Oscar Fashion - 2008 - Celebrity red carpet photos:

Oscar fashion...

Tasteful and elegant style

Good things come in threes and it was definitely the year of the red dress, bare shoulder, and baby bump.

Although everyone looked tastefully fantastic and thankfully there was a whisper of personal style, there really weren't many obvious standouts when it came to Oscar fashion at the 80th Academy Awards.

Anne Hathaway, stunning in a rich red Marchesa gown with a dramatic rosette sash which she described as a œdiaphanous sheath that spotlighted her luminous pale skin.

Jessica Alba in a Marchesa grape strapless baby bump covering chiffon sheath with a spray of feathers across the bodice.

Heidi Klum in a very dramatic, portrait collar, brilliant red sheath by John Galliano that she will later auction for charity.

Diablo Cody, the œJuno writer and former stripper, adding some downtown sass to the red carpet in a fierce, criss-cross strap leopard chiffon Dior by John Galliano sheath to spotlight her tatts.

George Clooney, as gorgeous as ever in a classic tux.

Jennifer Garner in a beautiful shirred black strapless with flowing hem, simple undone, pulled back hair that was all an excellent backdrop to have her magnificent diamond necklace shine”Garner credits stylist Rachel Zoe for getting her out of her jeans and making her red carpet gorgeous.

Kristin Chenoweth simply divine in a strapless, figure hugging black illusion chiffon gown that created the perfect elegant sizzle for her petite frame. Cameron Diaz in an icy pink Dior strapless, heavily wrapped and pleated gown.

The always spot on, Cate Blanchett looked regal and flawless in a plum Dries Van Noten empire maternity gown.

French actress Marion Cotillard probably took the biggest fashion risk in a figure-hugging Jean Paul Gaultier mermaid gown, that will probably cause the American fashion police to jibber-jabber, but in our eyes, her dress was the most unique and therefore, the most memorable.
